OECD should decide for itself whether Russia needed as its member — Medvedev

MOSCOW, April 18. /ITAR-TASS/. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) should decide for itself whether Russia is needed as a member state of this organization, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting of the Ministry of Economic Development enlarged board on Friday.

“The OECD is a serious organization. But if they engaged with us in debate over use of sanctions (against Russia) and take this as an instrument of pressure on our country then we will not force ourselves upon them. They should decide for themselves whether or not they need Russia,” the prime minister stated.
