Russian-Chinese meeting in Vladivostok to discuss peaceful atom co-operation

VLADIVOSTOK, April 18./ITAR-TASS/. The co-chairs of the Russian-Chinese commission for the preparation of regular meetings of the heads of state will gather in Vladivostok to discuss matters of co-operation in civil aircraft building, in the spheres of peaceful atom, agriculture, transport infrastructure and so on, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Friday.

According to him, Russia and China have a mass of questions, requiring detailed political discussion. The Russian side is trying to give a detailed account of the decisions that are taken by the president and that are implemented by the Ministry for Development of Russian Far East in order to stimulate the investment inflow and create a favourable investment environment.

“I think that we have managed to interest our Chinese colleagues,” Rogozin said. He added that such a presentation of all investment projects, legislative innovations and legal norms will be held in June at the first China-Russia EXPO in Harbin.

Russian-Chinese dialogue is currently very intensive and the number of contacts in the future will be only increased,  Dmitry Rogozin said.

He noted that the “main political event will be a Russia-China summit that will be held in the People's Republic of China (PRC), in particular, in Shanghai.” “The heads of state will also meet on the sidelines of a number of international events, including at the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) forum’s summit that will be held in Beijing this November,” Rogozin said.

He recalled that the Russian and Chinese presidents had already met this year in Sochi in February.

Rogozin added that at the government level the bilateral contacts are made as and when necessary. “We have arranged with Wang Yang (Vice Premier of the PRC State Council) that as soon as a theme that requires attention for the advancement of strategic project emerges, we immediately make contact,” he said. In general, Rogozin said, on October 12 - 14, Premier of the Chinese State Council Li Keqiang plans to visit Russia, on October 13, the 19th regular meeting of the two counties’ heads of government is planned, and on October 14, the two states’ premiers will hold a meeting at the international forum Open Innovations.
