KIEV, April 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Overall wage arrears in Ukraine as of the end of March were 909.46 million hryvnias (about 70 million U.S. dollars), the Ukrainskaya Pravda internet publication said on Tuesday.
The Kiev region is a leader in terms of unpaid salaries - wage arrears there amounted to 148 million hryvnias (about 11.4 million U.S. dollars). It is followed by the Kharkov region with its wage arrears of 86.8 million hryvnias (6.7 million U.S. dollars) and the Donetsk region (73 million hryvnias, or 5.6 million U.S. dollars).
In a bid to solve this problem, according to Ukrainskaya Pravda, the country’s government has set up an ad hoc commission and a number of ministers were ordered to take this problem under their personal control.
