KIEV, April 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Local residents stopped on Tuesday a Ukrainian armed forces convoy of armored vehicles near the eastern Ukrainian city of Lugansk, the Inter TV channel reported.
According to Inter, six armored personnel carriers (APCs) and vehicles with howitzers were sent from the city of Dnepropetrovsk.
The dwellers of the Raygorodka village where the convoy was going blocked the road and parked cars on the roadside.
A coup occurred in Ukraine in February and new people were brought to power amid deadly riots. President Viktor Yanukovich had to leave the country.
Federalization supporters have been holding protests against the new Ukrainian authorities in the country’s Russian-speaking southeastern territories, in particular, the Donetsk, Lugansk and Kharkov regions.
