PACE to hold debate on situation in Ukraine

STRASBOURG, April 09, /ITAR-TASS/. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Wednesday will hold an "urgent debate" on the situation in Ukraine. The Assembly intends to pass a resolution containing strong criticism of Russia's actions relating to re-unificatio of Crimea with the Russian Federation.

The Russian delegation has already stated a strong protest against adopting the draft of such a resolution. "This is a monstrous draft resolution in which black is called white and white black. All boils down to an unbridled defamation of Russia and of its actions in Crimea and to upholding utterly inadmissible fantasies. The report is simply not subect to an adjustment. It must be removed altogether. There is even no spot to put a patch on," Leonid Slutsky, deputy leader of the delegation and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, told journalists.
