MOSCOW, April 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Council of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States will have a meeting in the second half of the year, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov Thursday upon the end of a session of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers.
“We’ve held a fruitful meeting and discussed the drafting of a range of documents,” he said. “This was a big contribution to preparations for the CIS summit that will also be held in the second half of the year.
By the way, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei added on Friday after the Foreign Minster Council meeting that the CIS Head of Government Council will meet in Minsk in late May
Belarus took the situation with understanding after Ukraine refused to preside and would do everything for the year to be successful for the Commonwealth, the minister noted.
