MOSCOW, April 03. /ITAR-TASS/. The US Department of Energy informed the Russian state-run nuclear corporation Rosatom on suspension of several peaceful atom cooperation projects, the communications department of Rosatom stated on Thursday.
In particular, these are several technical meetings, particularly devoted to scientific issues. Meanwhile, the United States cited “Russia’s actions in Ukraine.”
Rosatom noted that this step was considered as “incorrect and contradicting a constructive spirit of ties that had been established with the US Department of Energy over the last few years.” “Nuclear power engineering is a very subtle and serious matter. A responsible and professional approach is required by all participants in international cooperation. Politicization is out of place in this issue,” Rosatom said in the statement.
“Any attempts to impose any unilateral restrictions in this sphere will primarily affect initiators of these steps,” the country’s state-run nuclear corporation said.
