Troika summit to finalize Eurasian union treaty in May — Kazakhstan FM

MOSCOW, April 03. /ITAR-TASS/. A troika summit bringing together the leaders of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan will finalize the Eurasian Union Treaty in late May, visiting Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov said, opening talks with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in the Russian capital on Thursday.

“We intend to finalize formal work on this document (the Eurasian Union Treaty) in Astana (Kazakhstan’s capital) in late May,” Idrisov said.

Greater freedom of movement between Russia and Kazakhstan is promised through creation of a Eurasian Economic Union, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov added.

Its formation [through an agreement to be signed this year] would ease movement of capital, workers, services and goods and make the migration regime more comfortable for citizens of both countries, Lavrov said.
