KHUJAND, March 31, 18:35 /ITAR-TASS/. Defence ministers of member-states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) will meet on April 1 for talks on international and regional security, Russia’s Defence Ministry says.
“The ministers will exchange views on further development of cooperation and the Peace Mission anti-terrorist exercises due to take place in China,” the ministry says.
Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu has left for Tajikistan. During the visit, he is planning to meet with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon and Defence Minister Sherali Khairulloyev, and Chinese Defence Minister Colonel-General Chang Wanquan.
“The top military officials are planning to discuss military and military-technical cooperation and the situation in the Central Asian region,” the ministry says.
