Gaddafi's son apologizes to Libyan people

The Libyan television aired footage of Saadi asking for forgiveness for “chaos and instability” in the country

CAIRO, March 28. /ITAR-TASS/. Muammar Gaddafi’s son Saadi has apologized to the Libyan people. The Libyan television aired footage of Saadi asking for forgiveness for “chaos and instability” in the country.

Representatives of the prison authorities say the reason was broadcast in response to rumors that Saadi had been tortured, Lebanese agency Daily Star reported. “I am being treated well,” Gaddafi’s son said. “I ask the Libyans for forgiveness for the harm inflicted upon them.”

On March 6, Niger extradited the third son of Muammar Gaddafi, Saadi, to the Libyan capital Tripoli. Saaadi was a professional football player in the past. He played for Italian football clubs Perugia and Udinese. Saadi Gaddafi fled to Niger after his father was ousted and killed in 2011.
