MOSCOW, March 28. /ITAR-TASS/. US voting against the UN Security Council’s resolution on judicial integrity that was submitted by Russia on behalf of more than twenty co-authors has caused deep disappointment of the Russian side, the Foreign Ministry said in a commentary published Friday.
“We are confident that Washington could have found many useful things in the resolution if had political will for this,” the commentary said.
In the first place, the US could drop a system of emergency justice that makes it possible to keep suspects in the Guantanamo jail for years without issuing charges to them and subjecting them to torture and harsh treatment, the ministry said.
