UN GA approves resolution on Ukraine's territorial integrity

UNITED NATIONS, March 27. /ITAR-TASS/. United Nations General Assembly has approved the resolution on Ukraine’s territorial integrity, which calls Crimea’s accession to the Russian Federation illegal. One hundred member-countries supported the resolution, 11 members voted against it, and 58 members abstained.

The resolution calls for the international community not to recognize the Crimea’s accession to the Russian Federation after the March 16 referendum.

Unlike UN Security Council resolutions, those adopted by the UN General Assembly are not binding and are advisory in nature.
