MOSCOW, March 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s military official has said an idea of creating a united engineer battalion of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine can be revised.
“Ukraine put forth an initiative at the Council of the CIS Defence Ministers in 2013. We’ve discussed the creation of a joint pontoon battalion and mine-clearing battalions,” the secretary of the Council of CIS Defence Ministers, Lieutenant-General Aleksander Sinaisky said.
“Member-states involved in the project may be revised. Instead of Ukraine Kazakhstan may be invited,” he added.
