BERLIN, March 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Sanctions against Russia are not politics but its substitute, leader of the Left Party’s faction in the German Parliament Gregor Gysi said during the debates about Merkel’s government statement on Thursday.
Gysi criticized the Chancellor because she had nothing to oppose the pressure exerted by the US, while Washington insisted on sanctions against Russia that would affect Europe.
He also accused the German government of a double-standard approach to international law violation and reminded about Kosovo’s secession that “was violation of the international law". Gysi described Ukraine's interim president and government as illegitimate.
