PARIS, March 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Possible suspension of the Mistral helicopter carrier contract will be considered in October, French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Thursday on RMC radio.

"It should not be forgotten that elements of the hulls of the ships are made in Russia. The procedure on the whole is not easy. The delivery of the first ship is planned for October. So, possible suspension will be considered in October", the minister said.

Suspension of the contract is out of the question now. However, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius was right to mention about such a possibility, Le Drian noted.

"The construction of the ships is continuing", the minister said, noting that in accordance with the concluded agreement, the Mistral-class ships were to be delivered to Russia without weapons.

European countries are considering possible sanctions against Russia in connection with Crimea's reunification with the Russian Federation.
