Ukrainian Foreign Ministry protests against Russia’s recognition of Crimea

KIEV, March 20. /ITAR-TASS/. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday expressed “strong and categorical protest against the recognition by the Russian federation of the self-proclaimed Republic of Crimea as a subject of international law.”

The ministry said in a statement that such actions of the Russian side “do not correspond to international obligations of the Russian Federation under multilateral and bilateral agreements, guaranteeing territorial integrity of Ukraine, inviolability of its borders and non-interference in internal affairs of the state."
