Ukraine to start partial mobilization involving 40,000 reservists

Mobilization in the Crimea and Sevastopol “is carried out among citizens who voluntary expressed to be called up for military service”

 

KIEV, March 17. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s parliament approved the decree appointed acting president Oleksandr Turchynov  “On the partial mobilization” on March 17. The law was supported by 275 parliamentarians. According to the decree, a partial mobilization is carried out on the territory of all regions of Ukraine and in Kiev.

Mobilization in the Crimea and Sevastopol "is carried out among citizens who voluntarily expressed their desire to be called up for military service, including by arriving in military recruitment and military units”.  Mobilization held within 45 days from the date of decree comes into effect, said March 17 acting secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Parubiy.

“The decree provides conditions for the transfer of Ukrainian armed forces, National Guard and other military units of the country, quickly and Rescue Service of Civil Protection for the organization and wartime " - the document says.

"The call for military service, including reservists, should be made in amounts determined mobilization plans, taking into account the reserve," - said Parubiy.

 "45 days is a maximum term, we will carry out the mobilization in the shortest possible time," - he added.  According to Andriy Parubiy,  during a partial mobilization plans to attract 20,000 people, as well as 20,000 from National Guard.
