Around 1,250 polling stations to open at Crimea referendum

SIMFEROPOL, March 07, 19:52 /ITAR-TASS/. Around 1,250 polling stations will open in the Ukrainian Autonomous Republic of Crimea for local residents to make their choice at a referendum on March 16, chairman of election committee for referendum in Crimea Mikhail Malyshev said here on Friday.

“Certainly, polling stations will be prepared for a referendum on March 16. As for the number of polling stations there will be around 1,250 of them,” he said.

Only citizens registered at their residence places in Crimea will be able to participate in a referendum, because it is impossible to form polling stations in foreign countries for purely technical reasons.

“People who want to participate in a referendum and are registered in Crimea should be in the republic on the referendum day,” he said.
