YEREVAN, March 06. /ITAR-TASS/. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian will be unable to take part in a session of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers that Ukraine initiated for March 7, the minister’s spokesman, Tigran Balayan, said on Thursday.

Nalbandian will be in Geneva, Switzerland, on March 5-7 to take part in the 25th session of the UN Human Rights Council, Balayan said.

On Friday, the Armenian foreign minister will take part in discussions devoted to the 65th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. The session is held in compliance with the resolution, which was adopted on Armenia’s initiative last year, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

The punishment of genocide is one of the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy. Year 2015 will mark the 100th anniversary of the genocide of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.
