BRUSSELS, March 06. /ITAR-TASS/. The European Union has announced sanctions against Ukrainian politicians. The document was published in the Official Journal of the EU.
The list of sanctioned politicians includes Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych, former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, former Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko, former Justice Minister Olena Lukash, ex-Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Yakimenko, former Prosecutor-General Viktor Pshonka, former head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev and his deputy Andriy Portnov, along with Yanukovych’s sons – Oleksandr and Viktor, and some others.
On March 6, the EU will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the situation in Ukraine. Leaders of 28 EU member states will also consider the possibility of imposing sanctions against Russia.
