Transport, passenger flow across Russia-Ukraine border down by half

KIEV, March 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Transport and passenger flow through Ukraine’s border with Russia has dropped almost by half, First Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian State Borderguard Service, Pavlo Shysholin, told a briefing on Wednesday.

“Only 26,000 have crossed the border today,” he said, explaining the decline with turmoil in Crimea and political instability in Ukraine as a whole. Ukrainian border guards control the border with Russia along its whole length, he added.
