Ukraine border guards launch special pass control at entry points to Crimea

KIEV, March 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine's State Border Service has launched special pass control at entry points to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, an official said.

"Complete border regime in districts of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions at the administrative juncture with Crimea has been in effect starting from today," deputy Border Service chief Pavlo Shysholin said on Wednesday.

Up to 300 border guards have set up checkpoints to control in - and outbound movement of people and traffic, Shysholin said.

The press service of the Border Service told Itar-Tass that three checkpoints had been deployed in the settlements of Salkovo, Kalanchak and Chaplinka. They were reinforced by Ukrainian police and army units.
