MINSK, March 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine is not holding any talks on the deployment of US missile defense units on its territory in exchange for financial support, the Ukrainian Embassy in Minsk said.

In the meantime, “financial support is a subject to talks”, the embassy said.

Earlier, Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus Mykhailo Yezhel told a news conference: "There is a hypothetic answer to a hypothetic question. This is a subject to talks."

On Wednesday, upon the end of talks with his Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called a speculation the statement about possible presence of US missile defense units in Ukraine. “I did not hear such a statement, but if this is true, we can see another example of those who sit now in the Verkhovna Rada speculating on relations between Russia and the West, trying to fuel these relations and fishing in troubled waters amid complete connivance of our western partners.”

“I believe, this policy is irresponsible,” the minister added. “I guess our western colleagues perfectly understand the whole game.”
