MADRID, March 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the situation in Ukraine could be settled on the basis of the February 21 Agreement.
“I was surprised when I saw CNN’s anchor saying Russia is starting to find ways to overcome the crisis. I remember the anchor’s words: yesterday Lavrov and Ashton (EU foreign policy chief) called for overcoming the crisis in Ukraine based on the Agreement of February 21,” the Russian minister said.
“We’re talking about the agreement as an indispensable stage to settle the crisis. Till now no one has heard us,” he said.
“I hope that those who helped reach a stalemate in Ukraine will find ways to overcome it. It is only possible on the basis of the Agreement of February 21,” Lavrov said, adding “All agreements should be implemented. It is necessary to work honestly and not try to get over someone.”
