SEVASTOPOL, March 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Sevastopol's coordinating council has ordered to set up a city prosecutor's office, the press secretary of the council for organizing city management and ensuring life-support of the city told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
The order was signed on March 3, the press secretary said.
At the same time, a statement appeared on the official website of the city prosecutor's office saying that the self-declared mayor's order was illegitimate.
Under the Ukrainian law, only the Ukrainian prosecutor general and nobody else has the right to set up or reorganize a prosecutor's office and appoint heads of the offices, the statement on the official website noted.
