Russia, Japan can hardly hope for quick progress in peace treaty talks

TOKYO, March 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian-Japanese talks on a peace treaty can hardly bring a quick result, Japanese Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Taro Aso told a news conference in Tokyo on Tuesday.

“For all those years after World War II Japan and Russia failed to work out a peace treaty,” the deputy prime minister said. “I do not believe that our countries will succeed in attaining quick progress in the territorial dispute now,” he noted.
