German legislator urges Ukraine’s rich to help the country

BERLIN, March 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Philipp Missfelder, the foreign policy speaker of the Christian Democratic Union-Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) parliamentary group in the German Bundestag, is against the idea of providing financial support to Ukraine from the International Monetary Fund and the European Union.

He said in an interview to Germany's popular tabloid newspaper, Bild: “Before the West sends money to Ukraine, it should be provided by all Ukrainian politicians, who have private fortunes in their country”.

“The people of Ukraine have a right for the mega-corrupt political class to participate [in rendering financial aid],” he said, adding that German tax payers “are not ready to help Ukraine without any conditions”.
