Ukraine TV channels broadcast premier’s address

KIEV, March 02, /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian television has broadcast Saturday an address delivered by country’s Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk, who was appointed at the post by Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada.

“A military intervention in Ukraine is unacceptable and is violation of all international agreements. We are prepared to protect country’s sovereignty and are convinced that Russia will not unleash a military intervention, otherwise, it will be the start of a war and the end to any relations between Ukraine and Russia,” the prime minister said.

Prime Minister of Ukrainian autonomous republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov asked Russian President Vladimir Putin early on Saturday morning “to assist in ensuring peace and calmness” in the republic.

The Russian president addressed to Federation Council upper house of parliament over possible use of troops in Ukraine. Putin submitted a letter to the Federation Council “over possible use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine to bring back to normal public and political situation in that country in connection with the extraordinary situation in Ukraine, the threat to the lives of citizens of the Russian Federation, our compatriots, the personnel of the military contingent of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation deployed in the territory of Ukraine (Autonomous Republic of Crimea) in accordance with an international treaty.
