KIEV, February 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s traffic police will be transformed to include in its control activists who support participants in protests in the Independence Square, Arsen Avakov, acting interior minister, told a briefing on Wednesday.
He said interior troops would also be reformed. “We held numerous meetings devoted to various vital problems, including the transformation of interior troops into national guards,” Avakov said.
He has said it is also planned to transform the traffic police into a different kind of inspection headed by a public council, in which participants in “Avto Maidan” (protesting motorists) will participate.
