Chief of central Ukraine’s Cherkasy region wanted for suspected embezzlement

KIEV, February 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Chairman of central Ukraine’s Cherkasy regional authorities Serhiy Tulub is suspected of massive embezzlement, the press service of Cherkasy regional investigation department of the prosecutor’s office reported on Tuesday.

“The suspect is put on the wanted list, a measure of restraint is being determined for him. Since this official is a lawmaker of the regional council, Cherkasy regional council was informed about the fact,” the press service said.

“Meanwhile, regional prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case over power abuse and embezzlement of state funds by Cherkasy regional authorities in tender purchases for building facilities of social and medical infrastructure exceeding 135 million hryvnias (around $15 million),” the press service noted.
