KIEV, February 25. /ITAR-TASS/. British rock group Depeche Mode has cancelled a concert it was expected to give in Kiev Wednesday.

It issued an address to its fans Monday saying that security of the musicians and spectators was a top priority consideration but the unstable situation in Kiev did not make it possible to guarantee the absence of any incidents during the concert.

The musicians expressed solidarity with the people of Ukraine in connection with the complicated period of history the country was going through and they gave the assurances they were looking forward to a new opportunity to perform in Kiev.

Monday, Depeche Mode gave a concert in Lodz, Poland, and its tour also includes Minsk, Riga, St Petersburg, and Moscow.
