Rada’s newly elected speaker calls for stabilizing situation in Ukraine

KIEV, February 22, (ITAR-TASS) - Newly elected speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, has held a meeting “with the heads of ministries and (governmental) departments” in the frameworks of “fulfilling the instructions of the Ukrainian parliament on coordination of the government’s activity,” the press service of Batkivshchina party said.

Turchinov, a closest political ally of the former Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko, who is fresh out of prison, urged the participants in the meeting to take measures for stabilizing the political, economic and social situation in the country and to guarantee uninterrupted functioning of the economy.
