Kiev’s metro service opens all stations except two in downtown

KIEV, February 21. /ITAR-TASS/. All metro stations in Kiev’s centre will be opened on Friday, except two central stations, Independence Square and Kreshchatik, the press service of the Kiev Metro has said.

“Independence Square and Kreshchatik remain closed for passengers’ entrance and exit, but can be used only for transfer between lines,” the press service said.

Earlier this week the city’s metro service was completely shut down over violent clashes between police and rioters in the centre of the Ukrainian capital.
