KIEV, February 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Sons of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich and their families have not fled the country, the press service of the Ukrainian head of state said on Thursday.
“Media allegations that the president’s sons and their families have left the country by planes have nothing to do with reality,” the press service said. “Viktor and Alexander and their families are now in Ukraine. Reports that they were allegedly seen at the airport and that the plan to leave the country are nothing but nonsense.”
The press service also said that the president was at his office “doing his best to take Ukraine out of the political crisis.”
Earlier on Thursday, lawmaker of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine’s national parliament) Oleg Lyashko said that Yanukovich’s sons had left Ukraine by a plane.
