KUWAIT CITY, February 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia considers further militarization in Syria and illegal weapons supplies extremely dangerous, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
Speaking at the 3rd ministerial meeting of the Russia-CCASG Strategic Dialogue, Lavrov said, “Illegal arms supplies continue. Sometimes one urges us to stop military-technical cooperation with Syria. I want to tell you that our cooperation was aimed at strengthening Syria’s defense capacity in the face of an external threat.”
“Military-technical cooperation with Syria does not run counter international obligations,” the Russian minister added.
