Protesters in western Ukraine resume seizures of regional administrations

KIEV, February 19, (ITAR-TASS) - Participants in mass unrest resume seizures of regional administrations.

The offices of regional authorities in Lvov, Ivano-Frankovsk and Ternopol are reported to be controlled by protesters again.

Several people in Lvov ruined the regional police station and have been blocking a division of the Internal Forces. The police are trying to stop the attack by stun grenades, whit no luck as yet though.

The protesters in Ternopol set on fire a police station in an attempt to attack it. press service of the country’s interior ministry reports they were throwing through windows petrol bombs.

A similar situation is in Ivano-Frankovsk - there the rioters have rushed into the regional police station, and its head filed a resignation. The regional prosecution have begun criminal proceedings on seizure of the building.

Presently, supporters of the opposition have begun in Ivano-Frankovsk assault of the regional branch of Ukraine’s security service. Petrol bombs are thrown at windows, and the protesters are breaking windows in the building. The staff are fighting to put out fire in the building.
