Subversive act disconnects five provinces in Syria from power supplies

BEIRUT, February 18, 2:39 /ITAR-TASS/. Militants of the armed opposition have knocked out of operation the pylons of high-voltage transmission lines at a crucial section of the power lines in central Syria, Sana news agency said.

As a result of the subversive act, five governorates of the country - Hama, Tartus, Latakia, Idlib, and Aleppo - have been disconnected from electricity supplies.

Teams of repair workers that have been dispatched to the site are doing emergency repairs. The authorities promise to resume the power supplies in the coming hours.
