WARSAW, February 18, 2:20 /ITAR-TASS/. First case of African Swine Fever, a contagious epizootic disease that causes high mortality in the populations of domestic pigs, has been identified in Poland, the Polish Agriculture Ministry said Monday.
“Tests were taken February 13 from a dead wild boar that had been found in Szudzialowo district at a distance of about 900 meters from the border with Belarus in the framework of a program for monitoring and identification of African Swine Fever,” the report said.
No cases of the disease have been registered on the territory of Poland previously.
