KIEV, February 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s ultimate goal is to protect its national interests, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich said on Friday.
“Our strategy must be geared towards the protection of national interests,” he told journalist Vitaly Korotich in a televised interview. “We are not happy with the role of a mere supplier of raw materials, the role of auxiliary personnel.”
“We are in talks with Europe, Russia, the United States to clarify our position. Any external pressure on Ukraine will be rebuffed,” he pledged.
