Superjet family set to expand

SINGAPORE, February 14. /ITAR-TASS/. The aircraft family that began with the Sukhoi Superjet-100 would be extended with new planes, United Aircraft Corporation president Mikhail Pogosyan told Itar-Tass at a Singapore airshow.

Last year, the company certified a plane with an increased range of 4,300 kilometres and an aircraft for low-cost carriers to fly 103 passengers, the president said. This year, the company would supply its first business-class aircraft, for use by state corporation Rostec.

“We are working actively to find technical solutions for an aircraft with increased seating capacity,” said Pogosyan. The plane would have 110-115 seating but the final figure would be contingent on market demand, he added.

The company’s aero composites and avionics integration centres will be active in making the planned short- and medium-range ·S-21 and used to build wide-bodied aircraft.
