NOVO OGARYOVO, February 13. /ITAR-TASS/. Egyptian First Vice-Premier, Defence Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said the Egyptian society sought to strengthen security that is important for the country and the whole region.
“I’d like to say manifestations of terrorism in Egypt and other countries pose a threat to security of our country and the whole region and have dangerous consequences, for example on the Libyan-Syrian track and inside Egypt,” the Egyptian first vice-premier said, adding “Now collective efforts will make it possible to counter this challenge.”
“Egypt’s position remains unchanged. The country seek to make cardinal changes and the Egyptian army is able to carry out this task,” al-Sisi said.
“We’ll be able to do our best to build new institutions of power and we’ve started building a new society,” he said.
The Egyptian vice-premier thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for the meeting and praised the effectiveness of the 2+2 format consultations.
He also congratulated the Russian president on the Olympic Games, which had opened in Sochi on February 7, and thanked for their excellent organization.
