Over 100 people die in military cargo plane crash in Algeria

CAIRO, February 11. /ITAR-TASS/. A military cargo plane has crashed in Eastern Algeria, killing 103 people, according to Ennahar TV.

The TV channel added that communication with the crew was lost in the area of ​​Djebel Fortas between the cities of Constantine and Oum El Bouaghi . Ambulances are heading to the crash site.

According to preliminary data, the crash was caused by bad weather conditions .

Meanwhile, as pointed out by an Algerian army representative, the exact number of victims is not established yet. He did not rule out that there might be survivors among the 103 people that were on board.

Al Arabiya TV channel reported that the crashed freighter was carrying members of servicemen's families.
