Deadly bus-train collision in Ukraine caused by violation of traffic rules by bus driver

KIEV, February 04, 22:01 /ITAR-TASS/. The deadly train-bus collision in Ukraine’s Sumy region might have been caused by the violation traffic rules by the bus driver, the press service of the Ukrainian Railways said on Tuesday.

“According to preliminary data, the bus driver ignored prohibiting signals and drove onto the railway crossing to be rammed by a train,” the press service said, adding that the automatic signaling systems at the railway crossing was in due order.

There were 18 passengers in the bus, of whom 12 were killed and five were injured.
