MUNICH, February 01, 21:37 /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine cannot be a non-European country, but it maintains close cooperation with Russia, Ukrainian acting Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara said at a panel discussion devoted to the situation in Ukraine within the Munich Security Conference.
Ukraine received a very attractive gas proposal from Russia and an agreement on a loan was reached, the Ukrainian minister said.
“We should think strategically. But we don’t change our policy. We are in Europe and we maintain close cultural and political relations with the European Union,” he said, adding “We have the similar contacts with Russia.”
“We fulfilled the opposition’s major requirements. But it should assume responsibility. If ‘cocktail bombs’ are used, these are not peaceful protest actions. We should divide responsibility and implement what we agreed on earlier,” Kozhara said.
