US Defense Ministry to develop self-destructing electronics

Researchers hope this will prevent information leaks

WASHINGTON, January 30. /ITAR-TASS/. US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has launched research into creating self-destructing military electronics.

This decision was made to prevent adversaries from getting access to US advanced technologies.

Complex electronic devices have become the norm of modern warfare. Low cost of various technologies leads to the situation, in which no one cares about recovering devices once they are lost. However, such devices could serve as a valuable source of information for adversaries.

In order to prevent such situations, American military specialists have begun to develop sensors that will self-destruct after receiving a certain signal from distance.

Specialists will research prospective materials for the creation of such electronics and possibilities of integrating the devices into already existing military equipment.
