BEIJING, January 29. /ITAR-TASS/. One of the richest men in China, owner of the Gold Mantis Construction Decoration company, Zhu Xingliang was arrested on suspicion of corruption. The case has been investigated by the Central Commission of China’s Communist Party. However, on January 29 the case was passed on to court, China Daily reported.
The fortune of Zhu Xingliang’s family is estimated at 18.9 billion yuan ($3.12 billion). He ranks 20th among Chinese billionaires and is the richest man in the Jiangsu province in eastern China.
Chinese media report that Zhu Xingliang’s arrest is connected to the case of former Nanjing mayor Ji Jianye. The former mayor of Nanjing was dismissed from the National People’s Council for “serious disciplinary violations.”
Gold Mantis participated in biggest construction projects in the last years, including the construction of the central stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing.
