KIEV, January 28. /ITAR-TASS/. Several thousand supporters from the ruling Party of Regions rallied on Constitution Square before Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, on Tuesday demanding an end to riots and extremists' attempts to seize power by force.
“People who want peace and calm in the country concerned over the situation in the country’s capital went from all Ukrainian regions to support the president and express solidarity with law enforcement agencies standing for protection of order,” Party of Regions member Oleg Kalashnikov said at the rally.
Supporters addressed their resolution “to all reasonable people, all political and public organizations, with an appeal to give a decisive rebuff to political extremists, express their civic position and stand up for protection of the constitutional system.”
