GENEVA, January 26, /ITAR-TASS/. Syria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad has urged the opposition and journalists to show respect to the government delegation to the Geneva II international peace conference on Syria.
“We are representing here not a ‘regime,’ but the Syrian government,” he said at a news conference on Sunday.
“Our task is to stop the bloodshed and find ways for the peace process,” he said, adding that attempts to demonize the governmental delegations should be stopped.
