Brahimi to hold separate meetings with delegations from Syria’s government, opposition

GENEVA, January 26, /ITAR-TASS/. United Nations/League of Arab States Special Envoy on Syria Lakhdar Brahimi has decided to hold separate meetings with the delegations of the Syrian government and the opposition, a source in the opposition delegation at the Geneva II international peace conference on Syria told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

“Such meetings are being held now,” the source said. “A joint meeting is not ruled out, but it may take place later.”

Brahimi is to give a news conference later on Sunday. According to some sources, representatives of the Syrian opposition and the government will also give news conferences.
