Moscow condemns series of deadly blasts in Egypt’s Cairo - ministry

MOSCOW, January 24. /ITAR-TASS/. The Russia’s Foreign Ministry condemned on Friday acts of terrorism in the Egyptian capital of Cairo and expressed condolences to friends and relatives of those killed in the attacks.

Three blasts aimed at law enforcers rocked the Egyptian capital starting early in the morning and left five people killed and up to 60 wounded.

“As for the events in Cairo, we reiterate our principal position of firm condemnation of all terrorist acts, including those directed against administrative facilities, no matter what motives the organizers and perpetrators declare,” the ministry said in a statement.

The statement also said that Russia expresses “solidarity with the Egyptian authorities’ policies, aimed at stabilizing of the situation in the country and promotion of the reformations course basing on results of the January all-nation referendum on the new draft constitution.”
